About us
The OK Chorale aims to give people of all musical abilities the opportunity to sing with others in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Eleuthera has over twenty years of professional performing experience as a vocalist, including touring solo and with her vocal trio Fruiting Bodies across Canada, the US, Uruguay and Iceland.
She released a full-length album of original compositions with Fruiting Bodies entitled “Fascia” in 2013, and her own full-length album of soul/blues originals in 2018 entitled “It’s Been A Long Time Coming”. She is currently recording her second solo album “Crossing Over”, set to release in 2024.
Eleuthera has led several singing circles and hosted creative community gatherings for the last eighteen years. Currently, she directs the Phoenix Community Choir at the Unitarian Church on Thursday evenings, and now also the OK Chorale on Tuesdays with Sonya.

Sonya is an amateur musician, community-builder, and all-round organizer. Before OKC, she homeschooled her two boys and founded Centre Communidée – a homeschool centre bustling with a multi-generational community doing many creative activities, including music and singing.
She founded the OK Chorale in 2021 with her longtime friend Lisa Sheppard. Lisa left OKC in 2023 to focus on her upcoming EP entitled “To Being”.
Currently, Sonya works part-time at a non-profit community centre, takes drum lessons, plays in a few amateur bands, and leads the OK Chorale along with Ailsa on Mondays and Eleuthera on Tuesdays.

Ailsa grew up in Auckland, immersed in music—her grandfather launched one of the city’s first karaoke bars! Her musical journey began as a child, busking across New Zealand with her dad on guitar and harmonizing with her mom. Together, they brought their love of music to local venues and Christmas concerts.
Now a proud mom of three grown children, Ailsa balances her seniors’ caregiving business with directing Club Choir’s vibrant party gigs and participating in weekly jams with local musicians, where she continues to rediscover old favourites and explore new styles.
In 2023, Ailsa joined OK Chorale and found a deep passion for choral music. She is now embarking on an exciting new chapter as the co-choir director for the Café Mariposa, OK Chorale Winter 2025 session. You might catch her channelling Elvis or Amy Winehouse at a local karaoke night near you!
